"The need for simple human-to-human relationships is becoming increasingly urgent . . . Today the world is smaller and more interdependent. One nation's problems can no longer be solved by itself completely. Thus, without a sense of universal responsibility, our very survival becomes threatened.."
-Tenzin Gyatso
I believe in the power of freedom.
I will not compromise my freedom by ignoring or overlooking basic human/democratic rights. Rights of assembly, speech, petition, and the elimination of discrimination of any type are ideals that should be modeled by every adult daily, not depending on location, audience, or immediate company.
I will not segregate myself from, nor persecute others based on learning style, teaching style, or communication style, but maintain the idea that we are equals in our common struggle to demonstrate fairness and equality to each other every day.
I am dedicated to educating myself on how I can make a three-dimensional difference in children's lives that is not based on a one-time score or observation.
I think that bullying, personal attacks, intimidation, demotion, false accusations/insinuations and other forms of oppression/persecution are behaviors that should not be tolerated internationally, nationally, online, or locally.
This I believe.
